Our Vision
The Vision of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is to be a faithful, growing church, that demonstrates true community, deep Christian spirituality and a passion for justice.
– Micah 6:8
Our Mission
This Mission of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is to be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and serving from our doorsteps “to the ends of the earth.”
– Acts 1:8
Our Hope
Our tradition seeks to share and witness our faith from our doorsteps to the ends of the earth.
Our Values
We are a house of prayer for all people.
This saying is on the cornerstone of our sanctuary and in the hearts of all our members.. We seek to be a welcoming
and hospitable community to any searching for meaning and purpose in God’s world. We are a church community
that welcomes those desiring to be active and involved or those seeking rest for their souls.
We look to the church, God’s community of love, as …
A people of God
The body of Christ
A church both local and universal
A community of faith inclusive, diverse, and welcoming
A body that studies together and supports one another
A body that worships celebrating baptism and observes the Lord’s Supper weekly
A body that is in covenant with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) at General, Regional, and Local levels
The communion table is our meeting ground in which we discover ...
Our commonness in Christ
The celebration of our diversity
A place to find an experiential connection to Christ
Our individual and communal voice as a church
Everyone is welcome at Christ’s table
Our Core Beliefs
We believe Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior of the world.
We believe the unity of the church is essential to God’s mission to the world.
We believe the primary authority for the church’s life is the Bible.
We believe the Bible is the primary source of God’s revelation, Jesus Christ.
We believe in the empowerment of all people through the Holy Spirit.
We believe in the “priesthood of all believers”.
We believe ministers and members share in being servants of Christ’s church.
We believe men and women share leadership throughout the life of the church.
We believe God provides gifts to each person to be shared in the church and world.
We believe in two sacraments: baptism and communion.
We believe the word, covenant, best describes our understanding of our connection to Christ’s church.
We covenant (connect & bond) with other members to be a faithful local church, other churches in
our denomination, other expressions of the church: regional and general church, and Christians
in other denominations and expressions of church.
We believe in two sacraments: baptism and communion. We practice a believer’s baptism by full immersion,
and we accept those who were baptized in other Christian traditions. We celebrate the communion
as an open table to any who believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives. The bread and
cup celebrated at communion are representative of the body and blood of Jesus Christ.
