Music Ministry

And David and all the house of Israel were celebrating before the LORD, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals.
— 2 Samuel 6:5

Adult Choir

During the school year, our choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30.  All ages and skill levels are welcome to join the choir.  No previous musical experience is necessary.  The choir sings each Sunday and perform a Christmas cantata each December.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, we sing familiar anthems that are rehearsed right before worship.

Children's Choir

Our children’s choir is for Pre-K through 5th grade.  The children periodically perform in worship. and practice for about six weeks leading up to the performance.

Musical Variety and Ensembles

Rush Creek has always been a place with a good deal of musical diversity.  Members are encouraged to use their gifts to help the community praise God.  On any given Sunday you might hear flute, blues guitar, classical guitar, viola, a 4 part women’s ensemble, a cappella, piano, organ, and more.

For congregational singing, most Sundays you will hear traditional hymns accompanied by piano and/or organ.  On several special Sundays each year we sing contemporary praise and worship music or “secular” songs from popular musicals, movies or the radio.

Day Bells Choir

The hand bell choir rehearses on Friday mornings during the school year and performs in worship quarterly on average.  All ages and skill levels are welcome.  No previous musical experience is necessary.

Hymn Sing

Once a year during worship we have an old-fashioned hymn sing led by our choir and other volunteer musicians.
