VIRTUAL VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Our week of VBS is one of our busiest and most meaningful events of the year in Children’s Ministry. This year, we had to make a difficult decision to take into account a global pandemic that could threaten the health of our children and volunteers. We have kids and older adults in our church and community with respiratory and other underlying health concerns, so we are adapting our program to something new that will hopefully still offer fun opportunities to learn and grow in our faith.

Rocky Railway: Jesus’ Power Pulls Us Through is this year’s Vacation Bible School program. Our week-long VBS will be held Monday, July 13th through Friday, July 17th, 2020.  The children will watch videos on our church YouTube channel in art, games, science, music and story.  The target population is children three years old through 5th grade. To foster a sense of community, you can send in photos of your child with completed crafts or engaged in one of the activities. To protect privacy, we will make the YouTube access private to registered families.

We will not charge for participation this year as we will not be providing materials or snacks; however, we ask families to make a contribution to our sponsored organization, Arlington Urban Ministries. Many families in our community have suffered through the loss of work hours or jobs that have disappeared. AUM provides emergency financial assistance and Homeless Prevention Rental Assistance to qualifying Arlington residents, as well as a mobile food pantry and other services. Please consider sending $20 to AUM (arlingtonurbanministries.org), or whatever you can afford, as part of your participation in our program.

Please download and complete the registration form, scan and return to vfripp@rcccdoc.org.
